RYAN NEWMAN
MA, RCC
Wellness

Ryan is in the business of helping people become themselves. He thinks that every person has a unique and beautiful core self that contains distinct longings, desires, strengths, and emotions. It is his passion and joy to help people reconnect with who they really are.

Ryan completed his undergraduate education in Counselling and Human Services from Columbia Bible College and my MA in Counselling Psychology from Trinity Western University. He’s a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and a member in good standing with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. Ryan enjoys working with adults, adolescents, and couples with a variety of different concerns:

  • Relationship issues
  • Issues related to spirituality, religion, faith, and existence
  • Issues related to manhood and masculinity
  • Grief and bereavement
  • Transitions and general life dissatisfaction

Ryan operates from a lens that is highly relational and experiential, as he believes that change occurs when people experience something new and corrective in the here-and-now. His approach is informed by the courses he has completed, particularly Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP, level 1). He finds these counselling models to be elegant, non-pathologizing tools that harness our built-in movement toward healing and growth.
